Lennox AC Repair in San Jose
Lennox is the brand where I have to set expectations differently, and I would rather do that on the phone than at your door. Some Lennox parts are proprietary and move through their own dealer network, which can mean a longer wait than the same repair on a Carrier or a Goodman.
We are not an authorized Lennox dealer and are not affiliated with Lennox.
Common Lennox failures
Capacitor and contactor
$150 to
$300 Standard parts, standard availability. These are not the problem and they are not slow.
Proprietary control board
$150 to
$450 This is the one that matters. Model-specific boards can be a multi-day wait rather than a same-day fix.
Evaporator coil
$400 to
$1,200 Coil replacement on some models is brand-specific, and priced accordingly.
Lennox parts and lead times
Mixed, and worth understanding before you book. Universal components are same-day. Proprietary boards and brand-specific coils can take several days, and on some models must come through the Lennox dealer channel.

Lennox questions
Why do Lennox repairs sometimes take longer?
Some components are proprietary and distributed through the Lennox dealer network rather than through general HVAC supply. Universal parts are unaffected - it is the model-specific boards and coils that wait.
Should I just use a Lennox dealer instead?
For a proprietary part in a hurry, sometimes yes, and I will say so. For a capacitor, a contactor, a drain or a thermostat, there is no advantage and usually a price difference.
Does that mean I should avoid Lennox when I replace?
Not necessarily - they build a good system. It does mean you should factor parts availability into the decision alongside price and efficiency, which most people never think to ask about.
Not an authorized Lennox dealer
South First AC Pros is an independent repair company. We are not an authorized dealer for, affiliated with, or endorsed by any manufacturer named on this page. All manufacturer names and model names are the trademarks of their respective owners, used here only to describe the equipment we service.
Lennox unit down right now?
Tell me the model and what failed. If it needs a proprietary part I will say so on the phone, along with how long it realistically takes, rather than finding out at your house.
